These pages can only represent a very small fraction of the vast body of work in different media created by Eda Easton over the span of over fifty years. From her earliest years as a teenager to the now mature artist, the progression in developing her very introspect style is remarkable.

There are viewers of some of her work who find it frightening because of what they see as voids in the space of her sculptures and in her paintings and drawings, and who cannot relate the indication to the full total. Others, who may be more attuned to modern art, can easily fill the voids in their mind and appreciate how the partial expression can indicate and represent the entirety.

Eda Easton has forcefully developed this as her own style, possibly because of her early education: she entered the University of Chicago when she was sixteen and soon had to decide between a career in psychiatry or art. She decided for the arts, but some of the depth of her work surely stems from her understanding of the human condition.

We will be pleased to hear from viewers about their reactions to what is shown on this web site. It also will be a pleasure to provide interested visitors of this site with additional information and with access to much of the other work of Eda Easton which cannot reasonably all be shown on this site.
